Department of Physics came into existence in 1961 to run its UG courses. From 2006, the department is running both UG and PG courses to impart theoretical education along with specialised practical training in well-equipped laboratories providing a solid foundation in the essentials of futuristic technologies. The department has numerous state-of-the-art research facilities for teaching and research purpose. Department has a rich history of excellence and invites prominent scientists and scholars to inspire and guide students.
Dr. Minal Bafna (HOD, Physics) (Ph.D. (Physics), NET (JRF), M.Sc. (Physics), B.Sc (PSM)
She has 23-years of teaching experience and has supervised 4 scholars for their Ph.D. attainment in field of material science. She has to her credit 42 research publications and above 100 conference presentations with 4 – BEST PAPER PRESENTATOR AWARDS and recipient of 12-national level awards. She has co-authored 27-books. She is executive member of IAPT-RC6. She has undertaken several administrative responsibilities and has served Convener of (i)‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Workshops’ – 8, (ii) Workshops on ‘Innovative Experiments in Physics’ – 7, (iii) Seminars – 22, (iv) Webinars & International Symposium – 7 (v) MOU – 2 .
Dr. Manjari Gupta (Ph.D., NET, GATE, M.Sc.)
She has 11 Years of teaching experience. She has published 4 papers in National and International Journals and attended 14 seminars, Webinars, National and International Conference and Symposium. She is author of 3 books in Physics. She is life member of IAPT RC-6. Her field of research interest is the study and fabrication of solar thermal appliances.
Dr. Ankit Kumar Gupta (Ph.D., M.Sc.)
He has 8 Years of teaching experience. He has published 9 research papers in national and international Journals and presented research papers in 37 national and international Conference. He has participated in 4 Workshop, 3 Seminars, 14 Webinars (International & National) and 1 Short term Course. He has reviewed one paper of International conference. He is member of Indian Association Physics teacher (IAPT).
Dr. Neha Garg (Ph.D., M.Sc.)
She has 8 Years of teaching experience. She has published 5 research papers in National and International reputed Journals and has presented research papers in 25 national and international Seminars, Webinars, Conferences, Symposium and Short term Courses. She is member of Indian Association Physics teacher (IAPT). Her field of research interest is the study of synthesis and characterization of metal-oxide polymer thin films.
Mr. Naman Mathur (Ph.D. Pursuing, M.Sc.)
He has 6 Years of teaching experience. He has attended 11 National and International Seminars, Webinars, Conferences, Symposium and Short term Courses. He is a member of Indian Association Physics teacher (IAPT). His field of research interest lies in optical properties of materials. He is actively involved in various clubs and committees of the college.
