Department of Physics came into existence in 1961 to run its UG courses. From 2006, the department is running both UG and PG courses to impart theoretical education along with specialised practical training in well-equipped laboratories providing a solid foundation in the essentials of futuristic technologies. The department has numerous state-of-the-art research facilities for teaching and research purpose. Department has a rich history of excellence and invites prominent scientists and scholars to inspire and guide students.

Dr.-Minal-Bafna

Dr. Minal Bafna (HOD, Physics) Ph.D., NET (JRF), M.Sc.

She has 23-years of teaching experience and has supervised 4 scholars for their Ph.D. attainment in field of material science. She has to her credit 42 research publications and above 100 conference presentations with 4 – BEST PAPER PRESENTATOR AWARDS and recipient of 12-national level awards. She has co-authored 27-books. She is executive member of IAPT-RC6. She has undertaken several administrative responsibilities and has served Convener of (i)‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Workshops’ – 8, (ii) Workshops on ‘Innovative Experiments in Physics’ – 7, (iii) Seminars – 22, (iv) Webinars & International Symposium – 7 (v) MOU – 2 .

Physics

Dr. Manjari Gupta (Ph.D., NET, GATE, M.Sc.)

She has 11 Years of teaching experience. She has published 4 papers in National and International Journals and attended 14 seminars, Webinars, National and International Conference and Symposium. She is author of 3 books in Physics. She is life member of IAPT RC-6. Her field of research interest is the study and fabrication of solar thermal appliances.
