Department of Botany
Department offers Master of Science in Botany. It is a multidisciplinary course and the curriculum has been developed to meet the growing demand for expert knowledge in life sciences. It is backed up with specialized laboratories, enriched departmental libraries to provide extended support of integrated knowledge. The department also has a flourished botanical garden and a good collection of the herbarium. The botanical garden has number of herbs, shrubs, and trees having economical, medicinal, and ethnobotanical applications cited in different literature. Department also has skilled faculty with different specialization who enforce continuous efforts for active teaching as well as research.
Department of Chemistry
Department offers Master of Science in Chemistry. Department of Chemistry avails 40 seats for Post Graduation with specialization in Organic Chemistry. The department has well-equipped labs with all the latest instruments needed to conduct practical and research work in all the three disciplines -Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. It has highly qualified and experienced faculty members involved in various fields of research. A rich collection of reference books and journals are available in the departmental library as well as in the central library. Guest lectures are arranged regularly to motivate the students and provide them an opportunity to interact with the eminent professors in the field.
Department of Zoology
Department of Zoology has 40 seats available for PG degree. It has well-equipped laboratories and highly qualified and experienced faculty members. Department conducts educational tour every session to enable students to have a closer insight into the practical aspects of the subject. Department conducts guest lectures by prominent scientists and professors to encourage and motivate students to introduce them to various career options. The departmental library contains a wide collection of reference books for the students.
Department of Physics
Department of Physics came into existence in 1961 to run its UG courses. From 2006, the department runs both UG and PG courses to impart theoretical education along with specialized practical training in well-equipped laboratories providing a solid foundation in the essentials of futuristic technologies. The department has numerous state-of-the-art research facilities for teaching and research purpose. Department has 80 seats available in Post Graduation.
Department of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science was established to full fill the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science. The department has updated computer labs and has facilities for teaching, learning and research. The Department offers 3-year degree of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA).
Department of Mathematics
The Department established in 1957 was earlier offering Undergraduate program only. Now, Agrawal P.G. college is elevating its scope by providing a Masters Degree in Mathematics from this year. The vision behind this is to be a recognized leader in Mathematics by preparing post-graduate students for productive careers in academics. We also aim to provide an excellent environment for teaching, learning, and research in the theory and applications of Mathematics.
Department of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was established with a vision to integrate human values and social concerns with technical education. It encompasses a Master’s degree in the areas of English Literature, Hindi Literature, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration, and related inter & cross-disciplinary subjects. Through imparting knowledge and awareness of humanistic studies to the students, the department aims to enhance their creativity and critical thinking to understand the interdependence nature and human.
The Department has well-qualified faculty who are constantly engaged in high-quality research and teaching. The department contributes to expanding the frontiers of knowledge in Humanities and Social Sciences through regularly organizing a range of exciting scholarly activities, drawing on the multiple disciplines, to enrich the entire spectrum of students and faculty.
Department of Geography
Department has a good academic output coupled with research activities. The department assists students to understand the mechanism and function of nature: geo-bio-anthro sphere. The Geography laboratory is a well-equipped laboratory, comprising physical geography equipment and world level maps, charts, globes, models, etc. It is also equipped with Dumpy level, Clino-meter, Plaini meter, astronomical telescope, GPS, and distance meter, weather station, topographical sheets, compass, and other digital equipment for field survey.
Commerce Department
Department offers both a Bachelors degree and a Master degree in Commerce. It came into existence with the B.Com degree course in 1961. The Department has maintained a magnificent academic profile since its inception, reflected in the outstanding academic performance of the students.
Commerce is a fast-growing professional field. Accounting graduates work in areas such as finance, tax advisory, audit and insurance, business advisory services, etc. The course helps in developing the analytical, communication and problem-solving skills to effectively identify issues and find efficient and practical solutions. The profession you may opt as accountant, auditor, information system officer, taxation specialist, customer relationship officer in various sectors e.g. Accounting & Computer profession, Finance & Banking Industry and corporate as well as public sectors by doing a degree in Commerce.
Department of Professional Courses
Agrawal P.G. College, Jaipur, offers the concurrent degree of Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) to the students along with the degrees of B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., and B.C.A., with 100% job placement. B.Voc. degree is awarded by the Rajasthan ILD Skills University. Vocational programs are conducted with the objective to train the students in skill-based and job-oriented programs to find gainful employment or to equip them for self – employment. The teaching and learning environment consists of regular classroom teaching, intensive practical, intensive summer training, seminars, workshops, field study, and On-Job-Training.
